About the Artist:
Doreen Steffen is a collage artist who has learned her trade through
private lessons from other artists as well as instructional books and videos.
Her art is displayed across the United States, from Washington State to our
nation's capitol.
Much of her art is featured in Advanced-Dental clinics in the Oklahoma City area
and Missouri.
She has worked in various art media for much of her life, and has primarily focused on collage for the past six years.
She does all of her own matting and framing as well.
Doreen believes mat-making is an art in itself, and she prides herself on
new and creative designs to complement her collage art.
She is a member of the Bellevue Artists' Association, and has shown her work at
the Silver Pallette Art Exhibition at the Hillmer Art Gallery in Omaha, NE,
where she won first and second places in the three dimensional art division!
Wind Through the Rushes
(24 X 32)
"Wind Through the Rushes", in a
28"x36" gold and mahogany frame, has
miniature cattails and gold ribbon on hand-dyed paper. The mat has been
delicately carved with cattails to compliment the collage.
